Transgendered people like me and all the rest of the TG community out there are also outlaws in a sense, as we are bucking the system, and going against everything that is considered normal and mainstream.
We have that right, and those of us who are out in the forefront of TG rights by living it everyday, are hopefully helping those who are to scared, and those who may not even be born yet to have a better quality of life without so much struggle, and pain in their lives..
For change to happen all of you must get out there and excersize your rights as a citizen to be who you really are.. Not what society puts pressure on you to be.
Just remember there is power in numbers.. If you stay in the closet you are not only "not" helping others, present and future, but you are not helping yourself either..
While this hiding out is mostly out of fear, of what you will lose, and of what people may think of you, or do to you..People are always controlled by fear. Fear is the great controller ! Fear of losing their jobs, fear of retribution, fear of exclusion, fear of losing your loved ones, or your marriage, and fear of ridicule.. A powerfull weapon to use to be sure, teenagers love that one.
You must get past this fear.. I urge you.. For if you don't, you will eventually die full of regrets for the life you could of had, a life filled with frustration.. Instead of a life filled with everything that you ever wanted to do, to wear, to be..
I am so glad that I moved past my fear.. For without that I wouldn't even be close to the happiness that I now have in my life..
Just remember: "Everything worth having is worth fighting for". While some fights are loud and nasty, many are much more subtle. They are just under the surface, and by being out there, and being yourself, and letting others get used to you, you will promote gender acceptance, and understanding, as I have..
Just don't bow down to what they think you should look like.. Which is more often in your own mind, than what anyone else may think..
